My favourite cookbook of the year – For Good Times (yes indeed!)

Few things are a given in life, but one of them is that everything that comes out of In Good Company is wantable, pretty and useful. Like their latest cookbook and party book, For Good Times.

It’s a party planning-decorating-recipe book, but even if you’re not into all of those things, then you’ll still find use (I’m not really great with decor, but I adore these recipes – for functions and for everyday).

Part of the team who put together the book were Julia Gallagher (owner of In Good Company), photographer Vanessa Lewis (who I used to do a lot of work with on magazines, and who took loads of pics of my son), and Taryne Jakobi, an amazing stylist and cook.

And this book also has the most beautiful photography, styling, ideas and fun – something that I think many local cookbooks and party books miss the mark.

So here’s what you can expect from the book:

• 12 designer party plans (for every month if need be)
• Ideas and inspirational photos for each party that can easily be replicated and also for any theme.
•  Easy DIY ideas
• More than 70 recipes
• Push-Print Stationery, which includes more than 100 free graphic files for you to print out at home. There’s everything from invitations and bunting to food flags and favour tags

The boos are available at the Joburg and Cape Town In Good Company stores, and online at For Good Times. I also spotted it at Exclusive Books.

Here are some images from “The Nutcracker Suite” section.
