This year’s Apple in Education Awards have kicked off, and if your kids are using Mac or iPads in the classroom, then this is an opportunity for them and their teachers to enter, so let their schools know!

They could win some amazing Apple prizes, and entrants can attend a prestigious awards ceremony in October.The competition, in its seventh year, recognises and awards teachers and students who have produced innovative and creative projects using Apple technology.

The Apple in Education competition involves a series of challenges around four categories that be applied across all grades and subjects. Categories include: Shape of my World, Exploring the Sciences in Everyday Life, Bringing to Life your Favourite Literary or Historical Figure, and Expression Through the Arts (artistic expression).

Other exciting categories include:

  • iPhotography: students can show off their skills by taking photos with an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch
  • iSchool Press Team: for students who have participated in the iSchool Press Team programme
  •  iTeacher 2015 Award: for teachers who have used excellence and creativity while using and teaching with Apple technology in the classroom
  • iTunes U in the classroom: for teachers who have created an integrated and exciting iTunes U course
