Imagine you're having a weekend birthday party or big family braai that you don't feel like cleaning up after (and let's face it, after the hard work of entertaining, sometimes the last thing you feel like doing is the dishes). Imagine you could use an app to book someone trusted and verified to come and clean, so that you can enjoy a slice of cake without further stress – and in a clean house, of course.
Domestly is South Africa’s first and only on-demand cleaning app, which is not only revolutionising the cleaning industry, but also changing the lives of the unemployed and underemployed, and this week you can win one of five cleaning vouchers worth R200 each.
Domestly has also just won the best consumer app and the best overall app in the MTN App of the Year Awards, and as one of the judges, I, along with the others, were blown away by this brilliant app and service, which is available in Joburg, Cape Town and Durban, and soon in Pretoria, Midrand and Centurion. (Also, the two young entrepreneurs behind the app are so bright and charismatic, I kind of want my son to be like them one day.)
How it works
Via their free app (available for iOS and Android) or website, Domestly connects busy people to trusted, background-checked cleaning professionals. Within three minutes you can book a cleaner for as early as the next day. You can choose between a half or full day, and you don’t need to worry about contracts or other labour law obligations involved with being an employer.
Domestly cleaners can set their own rates, which means that customers have range of rates to choose from (plus it allows cleaners to control their earning power).
How to book
You can book via the app or website, and you can also do bulk bookings and re-book your favourite cleaner. You can view detailed profiles of each cleaner, which includes ratings and reviews from other customers.
All payments for services are conveniently handled within the app via credit card, but there's also an option to pay by EFT.
To enter to win
Download the app or use the website and sign up. If you win, a R200 voucher will be added to your account. If you don't sign up, a voucher can't be added.
The giveaway closes on Wednesday September 14 at 9am, after which the winners will be announced on the Rattle and Mum Facebook page, and then emailed. This giveaway is open to South African residents only.
