Do you worry about your kids' safety online? Google has just launched an educational program to teach kids about online safety in a fun way. It's called Be Internet Awesome and is suited for kids from around 7/8 to help them how to be more savvy and safe digitally.
According to a recent Google blog post, the initiative will provide them with five main lessons: How to be internet smart, how to be internet alert, how to be internet strong, how to be internet kind, and how to be internet brave.
To it more fun for kids, Google gets the messages across via an interactive game called "Interland," an imaginary world of four lands. Kids visit each one and play mini games that try to teach them something about clever and safe internet use. For example Mindful Mountain is a puzzle game about sharing and Reality River is a quiz about spotting scams and fake news.
The program also includes curriculum for parents and educators, plus messages some well-known US YouTubers.
