Still need to do Christmas or holiday shopping? Still after that picture of your kids with Father Christmas, or wanting your gift wrapping done because you’ve run out of time or have no inclination? Or, are you simply after the most delicious pop-up stand where you can create your own divine Magnum ice creams?
Yes? Then head to Cresta Shopping Centre for not only its huge range of shops (there are 260 – I dare you not to find the perfect gift there), but for some extra nice things that will not only make shopping bearable, but are worth a trip to the centre alone.
Then, there is a kids’ section with festive craft activities, face painting and a ball pit, plus Santa photo opportunities between 10am and 6pm. You can also buy a printed photograph at R30 a print.
Since this is also a time for giving, there’s the “kindness corner”, a giant tree bookshelf and reading corner that allows shoppers to donate new or pre-loved books that will be donated to a children’s home in the Cresta Community. Shoppers can also donate cash (cash or credit card) to go towards books. Also, there are book storytelling sessions for kids at 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.
For a decadent and magical experience, pop into the #MakeMyMagnumSA Pleasure Bar in the food and entertainment court to create your own signature Magnum ice-cream – choose from toppings, coatings and sauce, and then enjoy your indulgence!
There are also gift-wrapping stations around the centre, where you can get your presents wrapped at no cost.
You can also enjoy performances by ballerinas and Nutcracker marching bands, plus selfie spots around the centre provide photo opportunities and give shoppers the chance to win a R5 000 Cresta gift card by uploading their festive pictures onto Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, using the hashtag #MerryCrest.
