A place for moms and kids to let their hair down

March 19, 2012

I was invited to take my toddler Max to Snip Snap, a new kiddie hair salon in Parkhurst. Some of you might know that Max recently had an at-home hair chop, which I wrote about here. But as keen as I am to grow Max’s hair out, I wanted him to have a nip and a tuck to neaten, plus to check out this new addition to Parkhurst that my friend Nicki had raved about here.

The decor is fun with the walls filled with pics, and aeroplanes make up the seats, with strategically placed DVD screens in front that play children’s favourites. There’s also a gift shop, plus organic hair products on sale, and tea/coffee for moms.

My little dude was warmly welcomed, entertained and nurtured, and he not being a lover of new places or haircuts (two things I’ve battled with in the past), he eventually chilled out and left with a sucker, flashing light and a neatened and gorgeous cut of his wavy/curly hair. And his mom left smiling…

To make an appointment, call Debbie on 079 278 6788, or email snipsnaphair@gmail.com. You can also find out news and specials on the Snip Snap Facebook page.
