A facial that didn’t leave me blotchy or red

October 4, 2012

By now you’ve probably heard of Balm Balm, the UK and organic brand of skincare products that’s been in South Africa for a few months, and which is even sold in Harrods. I’ve been using Balm Balm for a few months, and while I don’t have flawless skin as a result, it has made a huge difference – less acne, blemishes and a “blah” appearance.

Lemon and Lime beauty salon just launched the Balm Balm facial which consists of an hour-long treatment of cleansing, steaming, toning, massage and moisturising. Only Balm Balm products are used which include the coconut cleanser, witch hazel toner, hibiscus mask and face balm (I chose tea tree for my “problem” areas).

Aside from it being a very relaxing treatment, my skin felt and looked good afterwards, and it’s the first facial I have ever walked out that I didn’t feel self-conscious. In fact, I had no redness or blotchiness, and didn’t apply makeup for the rest of the day.

For now, Lemon and Lime in Randpark Ridge, Jhb, is the only salon to offer the treatment. You can call them on 011 794 6023, or email them here. An hour-long facial costs R250, and you can buy Balm Balm products there.

For more info on Balm Balm, which is UK’s leading 100% certified organic skincare company, go to the UK website, or to the local site. It’s good to know that Balm Balm is not tested on animals, and is suitable if you have senstitive skin, eczema or psoriasis.

Note: I received this complimentary facial. All words are my own
