One of the annoying things about you

October 8, 2012

I’ve written about one of my most fave books from this year, To What Miserable Wretches Have I Been Born by Suzanne Weber. It’s a book as if it were written by babies and toddlers, and it’s hilarious.

Here’s one of my gem poems, One of the Annoying Things About You:

“You know that game we play

pretty much constantly?

The one where I put the ball

in the plastic container

(BHA-free fo course)

and you dump it out

and give it to me

and I put it back in again?

And you dump it out

and give it to me

and I put it back in again?

And you dump it out

and give it to me

and I put it back in again?

And you’re so freaking amused each time I get the

freaking thing in the stupid container

even though it’s really not that hard?

Even for an eleventh-month-old?

Right. That’s the one.

Well…

listen up…

COULDJA LEAVE THE FREAKING BALL

IN THE CONTAINER?

For once?

I put it there because I want it there.

Just leave it there and let’s move on with our lives.

We’ve got a goddamned game of peek-a-boo to play.
