You’ve probably read the tweets or heard the news that Huggies Gold has just launched a new range – one for boys, and one for girls. And hallelujah – it’s about time something like this came to South Africa because we know how different boys and girls are (I always chuckled about how my son used to pee on my face while I changed his nappies when he was a baby, and how my friend’s baby girl pee’ed on downwards on the floor during their nappy changes).
The new Huggies Gold nappies have absorbency pads higher up for boys, and lower for girls, come in cute Disney designs (Micky Mouse for him, Minnie Mouse for her), and have elastic waistbands and stretchy fasteners.
They’re available in major retailers and come in four sizes – size 3 (5 – 9 kg), size 4 (8 – 14 kg), size 4+ (10 – 16 kg) and size 5 (12 – 22 kg). Prices range between R149,99 – R174,99 for bags and between R279,99 – R329,99 per box.
To launch the new nappies, Huggies invited some moms (as many as they could accommodate) to breakfasts in Joburg and Cape Town where we were spoilt with gifts, a divine breakfast and giveaways, and lest we go home empty-handed, we even got nappies and age-appropriate gifts for our kids.
Comedian and mom of two Tumi Morake was hilarious as our speaker at the Westcliff event, and judging by the tweets from the Capetonians, Michael Mol was also a hit at their event. Aside from a great breakfast and presentation, and sweet bowls that I couldn’t keep away from, it was once again wonderful to meet fellow moms. I met many Twitter friends for the first time, reunited with some ‘ol faves, and discussed sleep deprivation, toilet training and best lipsticks with the rest.
Here are some pics from the launch in Joburg…
