Yesterday I came across the most beautiful piece on MailOnline about a toddler Beau from California who takes his daily naps with his puppy Theo.
The article reads that mom Jessica Shyba and her husband got the mixed-breed puppy for their household of three kids. She shares the story on her blog too about how the mutual nap time routine started:

“Theo was laying on Beau when the toddler was getting rocked for his afternoon nap and Theo passed out as well. Talk about killing two birds with one stone.
I was practically howling at the cuteness and nearly woke them both up.
The following day, Theo met us up in my room for the nap time ritual, and so began what I can only describe as the most organic and beautiful friendship I have ever witnessed.
Each day, Theo meets us at nap time and waits patiently for beau to fall asleep. By that time, he’s also sleepy, so when I hoist him onto our bed, he stumbles over Beau and plops right down on top of him. And there they sleep, entwined, for at least two hours.”

November 18, 2013 at 1:44 pmThis was just what I needed to see right now. Yesterday, 11/18/2013 was the 7th anniversary of the passing of my gorgeous, genius, Alaskan Malamute-wolf hybrid rescue dog who became my service dog after an injury at work, and who had been certified a therapy dog as soon as he was eligible. He adored children, and not only developed instant bonds with disabled kids, but had an uncanny ability that drew him to children who were ill and needed him. Thank you for this!
