Woolworths and MySchool give 100 kids a smile, literally, with Operation Smile and life-changing surgeries

November 25, 2013

Aaaw, this is a feel-good: Woolworths and MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet have partnered with Operation Smile South Africa (a MyVillage beneficiary), to give 100 children born with cleft palates or cleft lips operations.

Operation Smile SA has performed more than 4 500 free reconstructive procedures on kids around Africa. Not only do these surgeries give kids a smile, but a chance to eat, drink and speak properly.

If you’d like to add Operation Smile as a beneficiary on your card, it’s easy on any of your Woolies linked cards. Each time you spend and swipe your MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card over the festive period, a percentage of your purchase will go towards the initiative (there are no costs involved for you).

Another way to donate is to download a Christmas track, a remake of James Brown’s “I Feel Good” by the Soweto Gospel Choir, from iTunes for R8.99. Simply search “Woolies Feel Good”.  Alternatively, you can SMS FEEL GOOD to 38537. Each SMS download costs R10. All proceeds will go towards Operation Smile SA.
