In the first of our Sasko and Prestige best recipe series, Tina Pieterse shares hers for a Cremora lemon tart. This nurse and mom of two girls, says she was given the recipe many years by her aunt. “I make it often and for most family functions as it’s so easy and cheap. People love it and usually ask for the recipe. Most people can’t believe how quick it is to prepare this fridge tart.
It’s like my ‘busy mom’ secret – people think I’ve slaved away on dessert when I haven’t!”
Ingredients
1 packet Tennis biscuits
2 cups Cremora
1 cup iced water
130ml lemon juice
1 tin condensed milk
Method
Lay the whole biscuits in a glass dish.
Mix together the Cremora and water.
Add the lemon juice and condensed milk to the Cremora/water mix.
Pour half of the mixture over the biscuits, fill all the gaps and then pour over the rest, leaving some to crumble over the top. You can also use Flake chocolate or any other grated chocolate to sprinkle over.
Set in the fridge for one to two hours
