It feels like yesterday that I was drinking bubbly, planning things for a new year, and admittedly, falling asleep just after midnight after seeing the new year in. Now, February is almost over and things are moving swiftly and the juggling and balancing act becomes harder. My son is five, and each time I see him in his school uniform, I’m in awe as it seems like “just yesterday” he was in onesies and I was crawl-racing him around the house.
A few weeks ago, I posted a brilliant parenting poem called The Last Time, which spoke of precious moments that sometimes you’re not aware of:
“The thing is, you won’t even know it’s the last time
until there are no more times, and even then,
it will take you a while to realise.”
Fleeting time… aint’ that the truth?
I recently came across the soul-stirring YouTube ad for Dialdirect, which appeals to the same sentiment – time is precious. In the ad, roles are reversed as Noah completes a list of chores to buy time for his busy mom (played by the awesome Suzelle) so she can spend more time with him. I’ve watched it a few times since, and each time the tears well up.
Whether you work at home or out the office, I’m sure most moms can relate to the ad, and how we’re so busy keeping up, keeping our heads above water, and keeping sane, that we forget about or miss out on the small precious moments and experiences around us.
Dialdirect has always had a customer-centric approach since they launched in 2003. Their key message this year is that insuring with them will save you time, so you can pay attention to the important little joys like reading stories, building puzzles, kissing them goodbye at the school gate, or throwing balls in the park.
