A cool kids’ and adults’ lunchbox and snack service that goes a long way in saving time and stress

April 12, 2016

The Lunchbox is a service that is only second best to someone making my child's lunch every day, thinking up ideas, and making sure there are sufficient groceries around. It's a lunchbag delivery service, where you get 21 pre-packaged lunchbags delivered to your door every month.

How The Lunchbox works:

  • You order from the website, and then you get a monthly supply of non-perishables, iin 21 bags.
  • There are boxes for adults, kids and even banters.
  • Snacks for kids include water or juice, and biltong, biscuits, dried fruit, nuts and seed bars etc
  • Boxes arrive at your door once a month, anywhere in SA.

While the boxes don't include fresh stuff like fruit or sandwiches, it takes a huge weight off thinking, deciding and shopping, and I thoroughly enjoyed my trial box of bags, so much so that I ended up snacking on some of them in the office, and then only filtering them down to my son. The kids' snacks are touted as "healthy" and I guess they achieve this as much as possible.

Biscuits might not be everyone's version of "healthy food", even if they contain oats or nuts, and these, along with the boxed juice and  is probably the only item that wouldn't have been allowed into my son's schoolbag (they're only allowed juices and sweets/treats) on a Friday.

While these bags are touted for lunchboxes, I think these snack packs are also useful for travel, and for just keeping around to avoid energy slumps in kids, and possible meltdowns.
