There's not a whole lot better than watching or reading about pet stories with a happy ending. There's not much as heartwarming on my Facebook feed as people who share links of pet rescue, success or loyalty stories. That dog who lay next to his owner's grave. The cat who found her family after being lost for five years. The dog in the shelter who got washed and cut and then found a new home.
Hill's Pet Nutrition knows the strength of a good story, and have a new website, Hills Transforming Lives. It's full of real stories that pet parents have submitted themselves, and there are loads of success stories that relate to nutrition and its capacity to change lives.
If ever you're having a bad day, or needing something warm and fuzzy (literally), read some beautiful stories of dogs and cats bouncing back from illness, stress and injury. Some stories tell of pet parents being told their pets won't make it, but then they go through amazing recoveries.
One of the most phenomenal stories on the website is about a very special rescue dog named Skyler, and I don't know one person who has watched the video below who hasn't cried.
When Skylar was rescued, she was malnourished, covered in raw wounds and mange, and looked damaged emotionally too. But have a look at what happened to her (I promise the ending is a good one).
If you have a story you’d like to share, you can post it on www.HillsTransformingLives.co.za. Hill’s is giving away 50 x R1 000 vouchers every month until December 2016, and one pet parent will win a holiday worth R50 000 (terms and conditions are posted on the website).
