Our favourite stationery and crafts brand, Bostik, is giving away two hampers worth R250 each this week, to tie in with their very clever – and creative – campaign with SA author Lauren Beukes.
Here's what it's about:
Bostik asked Lauren Beukes (author of the likes of Zoo City, Broken Monsters and The Shining Girls) to write a children's book. In it are 20 rhymes describing 20 different “beasties” such as break-dancing dinosaurs, carrot-juice-slurping vampire bunnies and octodragon moose.
The book is called the Bostik Book of Unbelievable Beasties and the only thing missing from the book are the illustrations of the “monsters” themselves.
Kids are being asked to enter their beastie creations based on the poems, using crayons, cut-outs from magazines, any crafts, or images on the Bostik entry forms. Once they've completed their designs, they can scan and email it with their details to email@example.com.
Kids have until 20 August to enter, and forms are available at all Col’Cacchio pizzerias nationwide, as well as the Bostik website. The best beasties will be chosen to feature in Lauren’s book, which will be published and launched in October. The featured illustrators will each receive a copy, signed by the author, to keep forever and the rest of the books will be donated to Shine Centres country wide.
This is a brilliant opportunity for your kids to do something creative and cool, that might just get them published too!
