The fantastic beauty online community Beauty Bulletin asked me to review Rehidrat, the electrolyte supplement. Since it's always in my medicine cupboard, and since I knew I'd be using it after my baby was born after "success" with my first born, it was an easy "yes" to a review.
Having just had a baby, I'm loving Rehidrat electrolyte solution in the tonic Jungle Juice, which is said to be great for new moms. It's a mix of Rehidrat, water, apple juice, Schlehen Berry Elixir and Rescue Remedy. It's said to boost milk supply, and also help with energy levels (much much needed for new moms).
I've used Rehidrat in the past with success after long races/runs to replace lost electrolytes, and whenever I or my older child have stomach issues, we have Rehidrat and it works well in giving back energy. It's said to be a safe solution for babies older than three months and contains an optimal balance of sugars, salts and minerals to treat dehydration and electrolyte loss due to gastroenteritis and diarrhoea.
It has no artificial preservatives, colourants or sweeteners and is available in 3 flavours – Blackcurrant, Orange and Vanilla. It's available at Clicks, Dis-Chem and leading pharmacies for around R12 per sachet, or R48 for a box of six.
Here's the "magic" Jungle Juice recipe:
Ingredients:
– 1 sachet Rehidrat in blackcurrant
– 1 litre apple juice
– 2 litre water
– 60ml Schlehen Blackthorn Berry Elixir
– Rescue Remedy
Method:
Mix all the ingredients together. Add 10ml Rescue Remedy in every glass you drink.

September 27, 2016 at 11:30 amCurrently struggling with that nasty stomach flu that’s going around. Been man down for two days already. Only able to drink Rehidrat, the black current flavor. It’s great and hopefully helping replace all the lost energy & electrolytes.
