Win a hamper of Twinsaver products in their back-to-school campaign

January 31, 2019

I’ve written about how when my kids start school it’s a very mixed time for me. I know that my kids are in good hands, but I’m still concerned about what awaits them, and the things that I can’t control, and the things that I cannot always protect them from.

While their progression and development is a beautiful thing, and it’s a privilege to have this, I still yearn for my “babies”, and wondering if and when the day will come when sending them off to school won’t come with hugs and kisses, because it’s uncool.

Twinsaver, the iconic South African tissue brand, would like to help you along on your parenting journey, and are giving away a hamper full of products. To enter, simply comment below, and mention how school is going so far (there’s no right or wrong here – we’re just interested to know your stories). Facebook page.

The giveaway closes on Thursday 7 February at 10am, after which the winner will be announced on the Rattle and Mum Facebook page. The giveaway is open to SA residents only. The prize will include an assortment of products. The prize cannot be exchanged for cash.

But wait, there’s more…

In case you missed it, Twinsaver is also giving away 5xR10 000 prizes towards your child’s school fees. That’s a massive help to what is a huge expense in parent’s lives. To enter to win your share of R50 000, buy a Twinsaver cylinder-style pack, 1- or 2-ply facial tissues or pocket packs. Then head to the Twinsaver Facebook page, and follow the entry prompt from there. You can enter once per product, and the campaign ends on February 15 2019.

School is going great, a lot of work and prep as we have just begun our homeschooling journey with my daughter who’s in grade R this year . As a mum and her teacher she finds listening and taking instructions from me a bit difficult and tends to act up but hopefully we will settle in soon!

My da is 3 years. She started Montessori. We told her from last year she will be going to school. It was a adjustment for all of us. Waking up early, getting her ready and making breakfast and lunch for her.The first few days she cried. Now she doesnt cry.

My 4 year-old has declared School is “Yucky”. He’s crying and fighting with us in the morning not to go to school, but when I fetch him in the afternoon he is happily busy telling me about his day, and what his teacher said, and who he played with… Pulling my hair out a little!

Inside my heart is breaking, when she comes home and it did not go well in the test and you thought it was all good, because she works really hard… I can see she is so disappointed in herself to do all the things she’d hoped to do and not succeeding.

Our biggest started grade R and it’s going ok, lots of new and interesting things to leant and lots of new children to make friends with. It’s quite an adjustment all round for the whole family but his school is so caring we feel like family!

My son started grade one and his comment was..” why can’t the break time be the learning time and the learning time break?” He comes home so gull of energy that has not being worked off like when he was in grade R.
