My favourite NutriBullet smoothie is…

February 27, 2019

A few years ago I bought a NutriBullet when they are all the rage (they still are), and I used it quite a bit for blending purees for my little one. Nowadays the NutriBullet sees more interesting things than pureed apples, pumpkin and baby marrow, and most days I make smoothies in it. And since I can eat breakfast for dinner most days, I can make a great “smoothie supper” in minutes.

I love Blendid smoothies (we worked with them at one of our first MamaMeetUp events), and since trying them then, I generally buy them every month and keep them in my freezer. They come in frozen ready-to-make packs, and you can add your liquid of choice before NutriBulleting. I also add collagen powder and sometimes protein powder, and then top with fresh fruit, chia or mixed seeds, nuts, coconut or muesli. Or just all of them!

While there are hundreds of smoothie recipes out there, if I’m not using a Blendid pack I generally make up my own, depending on what’s in the freezer or fridge. Usually it’s bananas and berries, or mango and yoghurt, or pineapple and mango. I’ll add what I want – milk, yoghurt or water, and some powder, and nuts, cocoa powder, honey or peanut butter, depending on what I feel like. I’m by no means the most imaginative cook or smoothie-maker, but I find it pretty easy to make tasty smoothies without a lot of prep or thought (just the way I like it!)

The NutriBullet makes it very easy to whizz everything, and if you’re on the go, you can take your smoothie with you to work or school runs in the cup that you’re blending in. It might not be the most elegant, but I’ve drunk straight from the cup on the way to work (I think the idea is to decant it first, but hey, when it’s right there for me, it’s right there for me).

The NutriBullet is easy to use and clean, and comes in 600W, Pro, RX, Baby Bullet (I wrote about it here), Veggie Bullet and the recently launched NutriBullet Select.

For more information on NutriBullet and to place an order, including free delivery to your door, visit www.nutribullet.co.za or call 0861 777 997. It’s also available from leading appliance retailers.

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE… next week I’ll be giving away a NutriBullet 600W, so keep an eye out for that one.
