Ultrasound pictures provide an amazing insight to what our babies are doing, and even what they look like in utero. These special images are being turned into art by an Irish mom of three, Laura Steerman. She started painting her own daughter’s scans after having several scares during her pregnancy, and her art can be found at Quaint Baby Art.
Laura writes on her site:
“My paintings were designed as a gift to celebrate pregnancy and this experience together. Each piece aims to capture this magic and your baby’s personality. My baby ultrasound paintings commemorate all babies, are inspired by you to tell their story.. after all, its your baby, your masterpiece!
The idea for Quaint Baby bespoke ultrasound art hatched from my pregnancies with my daughters. The ultrasound photographs I treasured were too small to hang on a wall, too vague to blow up and even the colours didnt seem to do their joyful dispositions justice. It seemed a shame to tuck them away in baby books. It was my love of art and crafts that drew me to painting their ultrasound photos and it went from there.”
It looks like Laura is taking bookings from January next year, and she ships worldwide!
