A few weeks ago I wrote about Canon’s Creative Park site, ia free content service with thousands of things to print out – from crafts and scrapbooking templates to greeting cards, calendars and photo frames and albums.

The site has been so useful and has saved many a “I’ want to do crafts” toddler moments. I’ve printed colour-in sheets, mazes, dot-to-dot and games such as Bingo and number matching cards.

On the cards this week.- literally – are Father’s Day printables. More is more when it comes to greeting cards for my toddler, and we’ve been printing out cute cards for us to decorate and give my husband.

For than just cards, there are cute paper crafts and little gifts that you can make using the downloadables.

You don’t need a Canon printer to use Creative Park, but if you are in the market for something affordable and trustworthy, and which doesn’t run out of cartridge after 20 pages, then the Canon Pixma TS8340, which we were sent, is fantastic.

It’s a wireless inkjet all-in-one photo printer. It can print regular documents, as well as high-resolution square photos, magnets and even nail stickers via the nail sticker media (this might be quite useful since we can’t get to a nail salon).

You can also use to copy and scan, it has a touchscreen LCD display, and a 6 ink system for vivid and quality photos. You can also print from your phone.

The printer costs around R2 199. It’s advisable to get XL cartridges, as the cost per copy is lower. The cost for colour is R269, and for black, R389.
