I remember the days when it was frowned upon to bake from instant mixes and boxes, and when you could actually taste when something wasn’t made from scratch.
Nowadays the mixes taste better and non-artificial, and moms (me included) are realising that to save time and effort, sometimes baking from a mix is awesome – and smart!
I recently needed a teatime treat and used Sasko’s Quick Treats scone mix. I added egg, milk and butter (you can also use marg), and the result was a delish scone fit for the queen. Almost.
If you want to be a bit fancier, you can also add berries to the mix, or cheese or biltong for a savoury option.
