A few weeks ago my son and I spent a beautiful winter morning at The Field and Study Centre in Parkmore for some pics with Emma O’Brien.
You might know that I love getting pics taken professionally (not selfies and out of focus shots like I take), and feature them on my blogs, and frame them, make some into canvases, and occasionally into photobooks.
You might also know that I hate having pics taken of me. I am very self conscious, and prefer watching my son being shot, or being behind the lens. But this shoot with Emma went well (ie it wasn’t awkward and nor did I want to jump into the river from nerves, plus the images are amazing).
Another bonus about Emma is that she is divine and very warm, and tends to suss things out and feel situations really well (it’s what I call a photographer’s third eye). Emma is a dog lover (she’s the official SPCA photographer, and will be climbing Kilimanjaro later this year to raise funds for them) and her animal, family, couple, maternity and baby pics are sensational – you can see more of her work on her website.
Until the end of September, Emma will be running a special for all Rattle and Mum readers. The offer includes a shoot (less 10%) for R1350, which includes a credit of R800 to spend on prints (so you get a shoot, digital images, plus prints worth R800).
You can email Emma here, call her on 076 564 4365, or find her on Facebook or Twitter.
