I've tried lots of hair oils for shine and strength, and while they might be packaged beautifully, smell amazing, or come from brands I love, there's never been "the one". Most of the time my hair feels weighed down, or more drab than fab.

Then, along came My Abby range, introduced to me by a friend of a colleague. Its a fabulous hair oil that literally has roots in founder Robyn Kramer's kitchen. A naturopath and herbalist (with the most gorgeous hair too), Robyn wanted to make a chemical-free hair product that didn’t irritate the scalp, that made the hair feel great, and were well priced and delicately fragranced.

She's achieved all of those, and the oil is my new everyday hair staple. I feel my hair has a bit more shine, and it literally only takes a drop for my hair to look glossier. At first, the oil smell reminds me of citronella, but after a while it takes on a more pleasant fragrance. Lots of people rave about the fragrance, so this might just be me, and shouldn't put you off.

The key ingredient in the My Abby Range is Abyssinian oil, which is shown to have more strengthening and shine benefits than Argan oil does. Abyssianian oil is also brilliant for the skin (according to lots of research I came across on the internet), and absorbs well, not leaving a greasy residue.

A body oil has also been released, which I'm really excited for.

All products in the range are of vegetable origin (vegan), are GMO/silicone/artificial colourant and artificial fragrance free, contain only natural vitamin E, and are cold pressed without solvents. They also aren't tested on animals.

There are three products in the range so far:

Abby-Oil

Gentle care for all hair types ( straight, curly or wavey). Enjoy improved hair manageability, supported hair volume and intense moisturising without weighing your hair down (no greasy after-feel). Contains Omega 6 and 9 , natural vitamin E and phystosterols.

Abby-Curl

Nourishes thick, coarse and frizzy hair ( tight curls). It provides shine, manageability and strength to tight curls. it contains Abyssinain, orange and Jojoba oils for extra moisture. Nourished with omega 6 and 9, natural vitamin E and phystosterols, this oil will quench the thirst of frizzy dry coarse hair.

Afri-Oil

Soothing strengthening relief for all Ethnic hair types (natural, relaxed, braids and weaves). A mild, soothing oil that prevents breakage, damage and irritation commonly found when using braids, weaves and relaxers. It contains Abyssian oil, grapefruit oils and which also assists in fungal and microbial infections. Nourished with omega 6 and 9 , natural vitamin E and phystosterols and Argan oil, this product will moisturise and maintain the health of ethnic hair and scalp.
