Do you love your lines? Do you believe you can look younger with skincare products?

July 7, 2016

Do you believe that skincare products can help you look 10 years younger? According to POND'S, you can, and their science and research show that their Age Miracle range will show visibly reduced lines and wrinkles in two weeks.

As part of their #BeautifulHabits campaign, I'll be trying out the products to see if there's any difference. To be honest, I'm not convinced all products work brilliantly, and I don't believe all beauty product claims are true. Surely if they all offered younger-looking skin, reduced pigmentation, reduced lines and a "flawless complexion", we would all have sensational skin, or is it more than this?

I once asked my dermatologist about a very expensive "luxury cream" on the market that everyone was raving about, that promised to "transform skin in no time". I had tried it (I got it through a magazine I was working on at the time), and found no difference to my skin at all. In fact, it just felt "heavy". My dermatologist said there was no science behind the brand.

Her good-skin advice? Use a high-factor sunscreen every day (even in winter), and drink water. That's it. No miracles. In fact, every dermatologist I've asked over the years about the best anti-ageing "remedy" says sunscreen and water.

Others say a good night's sleep is their ticket to putting their best face forward, while others says it's being relaxed, or even cutting out sugar. For me, I think it's lack of stress, sleep, being hydrated, regular exercise, sunscreen and keeping my skin moisturised. I also find the less diet colddrinks I drink, the better my skin looks. Come to think of it, the happier and more relaxed I am (which goes with lack of stress and good sleep), the better my skin looks.

I'm also a fan of laser treatments like Fraxel. I had a session last year (I wrote about it here) and it helped my pigmentation a lot, something I'm not sure a cream would have done as successfully. If I had more money, I would invest in more Fraxel.

So, this month I'll be trying out three products in the POND'S Age Miracle range: Intensive Cell ReGen™ Serum, Cell ReGen™ Day Cream – For Normal to Dry Skin and Deep Action Night Cream. I've taken a bare-faced before pic (big eeeek!), so I can keep track of any visible differences.

I'll also be giving away five brilliant POND'S Age Miracle hampers, for those who are looking to try something new, or to kickstart or continue their anti-ageing regime.
