Disney and Harrods today announced the launch of a princess-themed “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique” for children, which transforms them into their favourite character for the day. And the good news is that there are no pumpkins or evil stepsisters involved!

Inspired by the scene in Cinderella when the Fairy Godmother works her magic before the ball, the boutique offers five-tiered “experiences” for children aged three to 12, which range in price from £50 to £1,000. Girls can choose  a transformation with hair styling, costume and face painting.

Children are led into a room done up as a stone castle chamber. They greet the Fairy Godmother in a looking glass before entering the make-over suite.  They can choose their favourite princess to be for the day while the boys can be knights, and a Fairy Godmother-in-training transforms them while telling them a fairy story.

There are chandeliers, gilt mirrors and velvet sofas, and the dressing tables are customised according to each Disney princess, with apples on Snow White’s dressing table and a rose on Belle’s.

For the Royal Experience, guests can choose from three gowns, inspired by BelleCinderella and Aurora. Each gown is made with luxury fabrics and and comes with a matching bag and shoes. They also receive a personalized storytelling album with photographs from the boutique, and a crystal slipper for a true Cinderella moment.

The boutique is the latest Disney offering at Harrods which also includes a Disney Store and Disney Café.  Last year they worked with designers to create dresses inspired by the Disney Princess stories.
