Tranquini – like an energy drink, except for relaxing and calming

June 9, 2017

Tranquini is like the Red Bull of calming drinks, and I love it. Instead of revving me up and giving me heart palpitations and that weird wide-eyed look and feeling Tranquini does just the opposite – calms, centres and chills.

The key calming ingredients in Tranquini are chamomile, lavender, and lemon balm extracts plus theanine from green tea. Apparently, these active ingredients have proven efficacy in reducing stress and anxiety, without causing drowsiness. Theanine in particular typically produces a noticeable relaxation effect, relieving stress, reducing anxiety, and enhancing mood and focus.

Tranquini has only natural flavours and natural colourants, no preservatives, and reduced sugars (around half of what soft drinks or juices have). There are four flavours – mixed berries, green tea, ginger & lemongrass, and malted barley, and are avaiilable at DisChem and Pick n Pay for around R19.
