Win a Lou Harvey beach bag worth R760

June 18, 2020

Lou Harvey has launched some more stunning new fabrics, and we’re giving a beach bag in one of the newbies, worth R760 each. Even if you’re not heading to the beach, you’ll find this bag super useful and versatile. I use our old nappy bag as carry-all now, their pencil case as a gHD container, and their overnight bag as a gym or work bag.

Have a look at some of the stunning new fabrics:

I also chatted to Lou, to find out what she’s been up to during lockdown:

You launched a new range during lockdown? Was it very frustrating that you couldn’t send out the bags?

Yes!  Our new designs are so lovely and feature vintage florals, stripes and of course a little leopard print!  It was definitely frustrating as we couldn’t launch these designs to all our customers as our stores were all closed.

We did however have some stock of the beach bags, cosmetic bags and coolers in the new designs and these are available online and we’re able to deliver!

What does a daily lockdown day look like? Are your kids doing online schooling – how is this going?

I must admit we are enjoying being able to have a little lie in, especially now that the weather is getting a little cooler. After breakfast we have a walk around the estate during the allocated time and this is wonderful for Alec as he loves to ride his bicycle.

Both he and Izzy are doing home schooling. Izzy is in matric and I feel really sad for her that she is missing out on her final year of school and all the special occasions that go with it.  She’s been a star though and puts her head down and gets on with her schoolwork. Alec, who’s in grade 1, needs a little more assistance so he’s keeping me busy with maths and reading!

We’ve enjoyed baking and planning meals during lockdown and have been experimenting with old family recipes.  It’s actually been a very special family time together.

How is your business operating at the moment?

We aren’t manufacturing any products at the moment and the factory is closed but from 1 June we will officially be able to manufacture again. Fortunately the online store is fully operational and we are able to deliver on all orders that are placed at the moment.

Are you still creating new designs/new products?

I am always creating new designs and always on the look out for inspiration and new product innovation but my focus at the moment is getting the factory safe for all our staff for when they return to work ,and getting our stores up and running and safe for all our customers. We can’t wait to see them all again!

What do you miss the most in lockdown?

I really miss gym and hate not being able to go everyday! I miss my trainer and friends and our non-stop laughter. I miss being able to hug people.

What is helping you get through lockdown?

Definitely meditation. It’s my time for a little peace and quiet after a busy day. Nights have been a little restless so Netflix is always a lifesaver and I have caught up on some great series.

And…we have a new puppy who has kept us all extremely busy with all her antics!  She is a French bulldog and her name is Elleanora Penelope Harvey… of course! She literally eats and jumps on everything but she has brought lots of joy and laughter into our home during lockdown.
