I can’t quite decide my thoughts about a couple, who when travelling on a flight with 14-week-old twins, dished out goodie bags to fellow passengers.

There have been so many mixed responses to this online, like these on Reddit. There was praise. “That’s the most considerate thing I’ve ever seen,” teeohdeedee123 wrote, “and it has fully restored my faith in said consideration.”

And concern about the larger anti-baby message: “Really? You don’t find this to be overkill?” papabusche asked. “I don’t require an apology for a crying baby on a plane. This is to be expected. I’m ok with it. People have babies, and they need to travel too. There are plenty of assholes I’d much rather have an apology from.”

Maybe it’s because I’m a mom, but for me there are worse things than niggly or tired and crying babies on a plane. Like the douche bags who recline their seats on budget and already cramped airlines, or those who get drunk, and even the mom who threatens to hit her child because she is “naughty” – crying because she has sore ears (I witnessed this last week).

I wonder if this will set a precedent or a habit for travelling parents to come, or if one day I’ll get a dirty look because I haven’t brought gift bags of Lindt, with apology letters and eye shades.
