If you’re feeling the burn after paying for school uniforms and books, here’s what could help

January 16, 2015

I know January is traditionally a time to fulfil resolutions, or start afresh, but since paying an uncomfortable amount for a school uniform last week, along with stationery, plus having a big car expense looming, I’m resolving to eat more tins of tuna and baked beans, and stop buying MAC lipstick, just as a start.

I’m also trying to commit to being smarter with my cash, and just as with my waistline and thighs, I’ll be trying to trim things over and above my lipstick obsession.

Some of the things I’m going to do in order to save money:

– Do weekend grocery shops and plan dinners for the week so that I don’t end up buying takeaways or Woolies dinners every night

– Hide my credit card from myself so that I’m not tempted to use it

– Re-assess my insurance to try to reduce monthly premiums, especially since this is one of my biggest expenses after my bond

If you’re looking to recalibrate, save, reboot or start afresh, King Price can help. While they’re not yet offering us MAC lipsticks, they are assuring us of super cheap insurance quotes that could make our year more affordable.
