It’s often when you’re not looking for something, that the best thing comes along. Like a new calendar app for iOS. I’ve been happy with my standard iPhone calendar, and it works well enough that my Moleskine day-to-day diary is now redundant.
But Sunrise, the redesigned and free calendar app for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, is like a calendar on steroids and offers substance and looks!

You need to log into Sunrise using Facebook, which I don’t mind, though others might be bothered by it. It automatically syncs all your Facebook events and friends’ birthday, which you can easily change (I don’t like seeing random people and events come up on my day-to-day diary).
The top half of the app has a full-month calendar, and when you swipe, you can reduce it to two weeks, then weekly. You can easily add events, and even invite others to events. What I love most is the apps syncs with your location, and gives a weather forecast.

It’s also compatible with Google Calendar, has reminders, allows you to tag location to events, and connect to many Google calendars.
While it’s still free, get it. I’m calling it Mother’s Little Helper.
