My favourite toy of the 80s was The Cabbage Patch Kid. In fact, I’m pretty sure my favourite “friends” were my two adopted Kids, first Gigi Rose, then Rolene Elmada. No two Cabbage Patch dolls were alike, and the genuine ones bore a signature on their tushes, Xavier Roberts.

Good news is that Cabbage Patch Kids are enjoying a revival, and have just hit stores in the UK. The makers tell me that they’ll be at Toys R Us this year, so I’ll be ordering one for my toddler as soon as I can, just like my dad for me when I was a child and the demand was huge.

According to Daily Mail, all 124 million new Cabbage Patch kids will still resemble their original friends but the latest collection of toys will sport an updated, fashion-forward array of clothes and style suitable for the 21st century.
