The funniest parenting blog I’ve just discovered

October 20, 2015

Blogger Sara Given is a first-time mom who’s found her place in the online parenting world by poking fun at it. Her blog It’s Like They Know Us gathers parenting stock photos that make parenting look easy, idyllic and euphoric, and adds sarcastic comments to them.

She also has a new book, Parenting is Easy! (You’re Probably Just Doing it Wrong) (available on Amazon – I couldn’t find any local suppliers for now).

Have a look at her site… here’s a taste of what you can expect from my new funniest person on the internet.

“I’m just going to post a quick question about my baby’s eating/sleeping/pooping habits. I am sure it won’t escalate from friendly advice into a battle royale of parenting philosophies fueled by deeply held beliefs, anecdotal advice, and links to articles no one ever clicks on.”

Month eight is the perfect time to scamper out over some slippery ocean rocks for a little mindful meditation.

Breastfeeding is always beautiful and intuitively easy. Plus, everyone gets a fun crown.

At nine months pregnant, who even cares anymore? Do what you want.

Catching a beautiful sunrise is easy when you’re up every 12 minutes to pee.

“And then the baby just comes right out! Exactly like you planned, without anything unexpected, alarming, or super gross happening at all.”

“We’re okay with another pepper, but this time around we’re really hoping for a kumquat. You know, for Carl.”

“Why yes, my child is ALSO reaching each milestone at an appropriate if not advanced pace. I just love comparing notes!”

“Ever since we cleansed our home of visual stimuli, there has been no need for frivolous toys or babysitters. We just turn on the ceiling fan and little Lunesta here is entertained for hours!”
