If you think your skin needs moisturising or some extra pampering every day, especially in winter, consider a baby's skin. It is 30% thinner than an adult's skin, and really needs daily moisturising because it's so delicate. It can also lose moisture faster (up to five times), and is more prone to irritation, which is another reason why it needs extra tender loving care, particularly for the first two years of their life.
A baby's skin also has fewer natural oils, so is therefore prone to dryness, and needs daily hydration to keep it healthy, and to protect it from environmental changes (this is a really good reminder for me – sometimes I skip the moisturising when my baby is niggly and irritated, and doesn't want to be on her changing mat).
Your baby’s skin is not just amazingly soft – it is also a unique and essential shield that offers protection from the outside world. Their skin plays an important role in maintaining their health and in defending against irritants, germs and bacteria. Skin also regulates your baby's internal temperature and is a tool for exploring their world through touch.

The gentle solution
To keep baby's skin healthy, it needs non-drying cleansers, and added moisture, like Johnson's Baby Top-To-Toe wash, and Extra Moisturising Baby Cream.
The Johnson's Top-to-Toe products are specially developed for newborns’ delicate skin, helping to help nourish, maintain and replenish it. They're non-drying, hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested, and cover the all-important baby skincare routine of cleansing and moisturising.
I've been using the Top-to-Toe range since my baby was born, and I even featured Rebecca in a baby-massage basics video here. I believe the products have gone a long way in keeping her healthy, and we've had no skin issues with her.
(FYI: Next week I'll be featuring a new video on the gentless of the Top-to-Toe range, and did an interesting experiment proving just how gentle it is).
The Top-to-Toe products are gentle, safe and developed for newborns, and are great for a "moisture-rich" skincare routine for delicate skin. They're non-drying, hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested, and cover the basic baby skincare routine of cleansing and moisturising.

The Johnson's heritage
With more than 120 years of experience, it's safe to say that Johnson's genuinely understands baby skin. They're trusted worldwide, and have been used for generations (every time I smell the baby pink cream, I'm taken straight back to my childhood).
Something I didn't know is that much of what we know about baby skin and skincare is thanks to Johnson's, who have sponsored almost 90% of peer-reviewed scientific literature on the subject.
They say they're committed to the science of safety, and the art of making products that are gentle on people and the environment. They're also constantly adapting their forumulations, based on the latest data on all ingredients. For more info on their commitment, head to the page: https://www.safetyandcarecommitment.com/
