Reviewed: the Jeankelly mommy/baby bag

June 6, 2012

A few weeks ago I ran a competition for Shooshoos and a Jeankelly bag and it was another case of having giveaway envy – wanting to enter my own giveaway.

Fortunately, Kelly of Shooshoos offered me my own bag to try out. Just a few days in and I’m loving it. Up until now, whenever I go out with my toddler, I’ve been taking my own handbag and his kiddie bag with nappies, bottle, extra clothes, juice, snacks (Jewish moms never go anywhere without snacks) and crayons. And many times I end up taking the iPad plus a book or Kindle which don’t fit in either bag so I end up carrying them loose. Add all of this to my phone and whatever trucks/diggers Max wants me to carry, and I have my hands full.

Enter the Jeankelly bag, a faux leather bag with real leather finishing. Now I keep all of Max’s stuff in there, and when we go out, I just put my handbag in, plus iPad and trucks, and we’re off. It’s wonderful carrying just one bag now, in a bag that looks stylish and un-nappy bag like.

There are four pockets in the bag, plus two side pockets for bottles. It also comes with a changing mat, which I’ve put aside as I don’t really need one. The bag comes in cream and taupe, and brown, which is what I have.

If pushed to find one thing that I’d love to see on the Jeankelly, it’s a side zippable pocket for keys or phone, but one of the inside pockets could function as an easy-to-access spot. Plus I wish I had this two-and-a-half years ago when my baby was born!

For more info on the Jeankelly bag, which are available on other styles too, visit their website. The bag sells for R995, and can be bought online.
