Show me the party – Max’s digger party at Sci-Bono

September 28, 2012

So readers might notice that this party belongs to my son Max, who recently turned three. We had his party at Sci-Bono in Newtown because I love that place and my son adores it. They also offer very reasonable party package prices, which includes free entry for kids and parents, plus a guided tour and science demonstration.

I had little to worry about on the day, which is pretty much how I planned it. I get a little flustered when entertaining and hosting, so this allowed me to enjoy the party without worrying about a thing. Photographer Sherene of Inner Eye Photography took gorgeous, despite there being the most challenging lighting situations (Sci-Bono is very dark).

I left all the food in the extraordinary hands of mom and owner of Moemas, Danielle Postma, who made biscuits, pastries, tarts, cakes and more for the adults and children.

But what took the cake was literally Max’s cake, a construction of sponge cake, sweets, chocolates, diggers and trucks. My son barely left it the whole party.

A sweet ending was concluded with a Consol jar of sweets for kids to take home.
