My thoughts
This is one of the thinnest laptops I’ve ever tried (it’s half an inch thick) and I loved its feel, look and flexibility. It has everything else I’d want from a Windows laptop – bright and clear HD screen, good battery life, an instant wake-up from sleep mode and decent processing speed.
I’m always on the go with my laptop, and it bears the scratches and fingerprints to prove this. The Acer S7 feels hardier than most laptops I’ve tried, especially since it’s so lightweight – it has a Gorilla Glass covering and aluminium casing, and after two weeks of working with the machine, one could barely tell I’d been there. I like that the Ultrabook comes with a carry case and a cloth for cleaning the screen.
I liked the touchscreen – after all my tablet usage, it’s almost instinctive these days that I reach for a screen and touch it, and this is something I loved most here. The keyboard was a little tricky at times – I found a few of the buttons a little squashed, and repeatedly touch typed several wrong keys. I’m sure that in time I would have mastered it.
