The funny – and mildly cruel – lies we tell our kids

March 31, 2015

Last week we had an amusing conversation in the office in which we compared notes about the lies we had told our kids, or the lies we had been told as kids. My worst lie was probably the one where I used to tell my then toddler, on winter evenings, that the park was closed.

A colleague of mine said that when she was young, her mom told her that the hadedas would pick out her eyes if she was naughty, and that if she was naughty she would need to go to the garden (and thus wait for her hadeda fate).

I chuckled when I came across this post on FB Troublemakers, about the hilarious lies we tell our kids. What were your most told or heard lies when you were a child, or parent?
