This has got to be the ultimate Mother’s Day gift…

Did you know that there are more women waiting for eggs than there are egg donors? Did you know that donating eggs has no effect on your fertility? And did you know that if you donate, medical costs won’t be covered by you, and in fact you will get paid (R6000) for your time?

If I was young enough, I would donate my eggs with the knowledge I have now – then I used to think it was very painful and invasive, and would affect my chances of conceiving at a later stage. Having worked on a parenting magazine, and having read dozens of donor testimonials and research articles, I wish I wasn’t as naive then as perhaps I could have given some people hope – and new life.

To be a donor, you need to be healthy, and committed to the donation process, between the ages of 20 and 33, have a regular menstrual cycle, and a healthy body mass index.
