One of the reasons I have another blog, Dear Max, where I write posts to my son, is for him to have a visual and online record of his youth, and what we go through.
I was at a function recently and someone suggested to me that another way to document memories, thoughts and milestones is through email. You set up an email address for your baby or child, and send them emails with pictures, thoughts, experiences and wishes for them to “receive” and read one day. I absolutely love this idea.
All you need to do is set up a free email, and at the same time you can even bag your child his own email address before someone else nabs it – you can set one up on Gmail for free. Then you email your child whatever you want him to have one day – school pics, poems, anecdotes, wishes or just “hi, I love you”.
What a beautiful way of communicating to your child…
