Dove has never been short on campaigns that make you think twice about how you perceive yourself and how you think others see you. They're often campaigning for women to have a better self esteem, and their latest project, #NoLikesNeeded aims to do just that.
The campaign focuses on social media, and how so many of us look for validation by seeking likes on social media, and feeling bleak when we don't get it. According to Dove, who conducted a global beauty and condidene survey, 68% of women believe there is a lot of pressure to show the best of themselves on social media and 61% said they like social media as they can control their appearance and the way they look to others.
Have a look at the results of the survey:

The campaign #NoLikesNeeded is intended to make you think twice about how you use social media, how you might need* those likes, and how the only like that really matters, is your own.
I've changed my avatars to this one that Dove sent me (that black thing on my head is a tutu, and I posted it a few days before my wedding, joking that I should use it as a veil).
The avatar is to remind myself that other people's likes, most of whom I barely know, are not nearly as important as my own. It's something I would like to work more on daily.
