Great storytelling app for toddlers and preschoolers – Billy’s Coin Visits The Zoo

July 29, 2015

Here’s another wonderful-to-have app to add to your kids’ collection – Billy’s Coin Visits the Zoo (R27.99 from iTunes). The app comes from the developers Spinlight, which also brought us the fantastic learning apps such as TallyTots, Swapsies, AlphaTots, and YodelO Math Mountain, among others.

Billy’s Coin Visits the Zoo is great for toddlers and preschoolers, and is a narrated read-along story about a coin that falls out of Billy’s hand when he goes to the zoo.

The story follows the lost coin as it rolls through the various animal enclosures, visiting the prairie dog, turtles, snake, kangaroo, monkeys and more. In the end, a seal bounces it in the air, where Billy finds it, and uses it to buy a toy.

The app has great visuals, and learning (there are lots of facts about animals), and different fabrics and textures in the visuals to create a sense of depth. There are lots of entertaining and engaging features – from the sounds of the coin, to the animal noises, to the eyes blinking as you drag the coin across.

In Billy's Coin Visits the Zoo, you follow the coin to visit different animals. Drag the coin to interact with the monkeys in the Billy's Coin Visits the Zoo app. Collect animals and facts in the Billy's Coin Visits the Zoo app.
