Putting my worst face forward, in the hopes of a better face

Part of me is exceptionally cynical about skin products and what they promise, while the other part believes every claim and hopes for better skin. Every. Time.

Since pregnancy and birth, my skin has gone worse – there’s acne, redness and worsening pigmentation, and there’s also lots of cover up. When Kiehl’s approached me to take the 28-day Change Your Skin challenge with their Midnight Recovery Concentrate, part of me was excited (“Yay – this will work! I can look forward to better skin”) while the other was (“Yeah right. This isn’t going to work. Just like all the others”).

But I’m giving it a shot for 28 days, starting from tomorrow, along with five other women (I’ll introduce them then). A skin challenge wouldn’t be complete without a before picture, so tomorrow I’ll do something scary for me and show my acne and pigmentation. After 28 days, I’ll show a hopefully improved after picture.

So the Kiehl’s promise (their words, not mine) is this:

– a younger, healthier-looking skin by morning

– that it will truly change skin within just 28 days of use.

About the product (their words):

  • Formulated to be used at night when skin is most receptive to recovery and repair
  • 99% naturally derived, Paraben-free formula
  • Visibly restores skin’s appearance by morning
  • Replenishes depleted skin
  • Instantly penetrates skin for smoother, more radiantcomplexion
  • Enriched with a blend of Omega 3, 6, 9
  • Recyclable glass bottle, dropper and plastic squeeze top
  • Skin feels softer, smoother and more hydrated

If this product can do any of that, I’ll be happy. It’s worth a shot.
